ATCHISON, Kan. -- Lara Moritz has been going "On The Road" again this year to find inexpensive vacations for the family.
This week, she visited Atchison, Kan., which is the birthplace of Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to attempt flying around the world. The house in which Earhart was born has been transformed into a museum, showcasing various items and pictures.Earhart spent much of her childhood living with her grandparents in the home."She stayed here longer than any one place the rest of her life. Because after here they moved to Des Moines, and that was the beginning of many moves," museum curator Louise Foundray said.
